At Shadow Hill Retrievers, we look at the whole picture. With the understanding that titles of a certain degree can help prove a dog as worthy of being bred, we emphasize the importance of structure, temperament, genetics, and health… looking at the dog as a whole. It is our belief that the Boykin Spaniel Breed Standard should serve as a blueprint for breeding, with form and function being valued as equals. We strive for longevity. The dogs we choose to breed are precisely within the standard set forth by the American Kennel Club and the Boykin Spaniel Society, with the structure and health to keep them working in the field longer. The proof is in our dogs’ accomplishments, both in the field and the conformation show ring.
The Boykin Spaniel is a medium-sized dog of great exuberance and drive. They thrive in the homes of hunters, field trial or hunt test competitors, and the homes of active families. About Us
Shadow Hill Retrievers is located in the small town of DeLand, Florida. Owner, trainer and handler Adelaide Lloyd has been training hunting retrievers since 2017.
Our Dogs
Our dogs undergo all Boykin Spaniel Society recommended health screenings before making the decision to breed, including genetic testing and OFA testing. They are also triple-registered with the Boykin Spaniel Society, American Kennel Club, and United Kennel Club.
